Summary

Cooper, Salt and Peter Island

We start our day with a relaxing cruise to Salt Island which is named after it’s three salt ponds, that were once an important resource providing traditional seasoning and curing for local islands and passing ships. Just off Salt Island you can snorkel the ‘Wreck of the Rhone’ (sea conditions permitting). This is called after RMS (Royal Mail Steamer) Rhone which sank in a hurricane in 1867, and is considered to be one of the best wreck dives in the region. Several scenes from the movie ‘The Deep’ was filmed on this wreck. We then cruise to Cooper Island and have a pre-lunch snorkel around Cistern Point and Little Carvel Rock in Manchioneel Bay. After this we go ashore where you can enjoy a wonderful lunch followed by a visit to their micro-brewery, rum bar, coffee shop/ice cream parlor and gift shop or just relax on the beautiful beach. After lunch we have gentle cruise to Deadman’s Bay which is the largest beach on Peter Island. It is one of the most stunning beaches in the BVI with a mile long powdery white sand and turquoise water which is ideal for snorkeling, sun-bathing or strolling in the shade of the palm trees. After this we start our cruise back to Tortola as the sun sets over St Thomas provides a beacon to bring us safely home and complete our perfect day.
