This is an exciting opportunity to join the Yachts business, working in the British Virgin Islands. You will be an integral part in rebuilding our base location, following the destruction by Hurricanes Irma and Maria at the end of 2017. This role will have the scope to manage the project, lead a defined team and work closely with the Yachts Executive team.
The position of the Project Manager involves managing the BVI redevelopment project at the base, assisting the financial control procedure and meeting deadlines set by the business. As a key part of the local management team, you will assist and support them to deliver the project on time, and in full. You will be responsible for the plan, and own this project. You will be tasked with negotiating with suppliers, vendors, construction professionals and the defined workforce, as well as other tasks as identified. You will be responsible for ensuring the project of this rebuild is successful, fit for purpose and controlled from a financial aspect.
• Preparing and reporting on the project plan to senior management • Be responsible for tracking and managing costs within the approved budget as defined • Forecast, control and manage resources required for the project – and report any variances • Agree realistic timelines for work completion, and ensure Yachts Executive team is informed regularly as defined • Report any variances to the agreed plan timely, and present options to correct • Produce accurate and factual monthly analysis of spend vs plan • Manage the administration of the plan • Meet with relevant 3rd parties to discuss estimates, invoicing, timing and costs – and agree work timescales • Work closely with the operations and finance team on any tasks as directed WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR • Demonstrable experience in project management on large scale projects • Intermediate Excel expertise (i.e. v-lookup, pivot tables) • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and manage various projects at once • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills • Ability to influence senior managers, and colleagues at all levels to achieve plan as defined • Ability to adapt to different working styles and cultures – to achieve the defined end result • Ability to be flexible with regards to working hours and days of work – in order to meet project directives • Ability to present reports or financial data in a way that is simple to understand, factually based and shows trends • Strong, proven negotiation skills
