Education in the BVI

I am considering accepting a job offer in Tortola. The employer will sponsor my work/residence permit. I have a 14 year-old daughter and have heard that as a non-belonger, she would be restricted to attending private schools. If true, that would obviously be a large expense that would probably influence me to turn the offer down. Is that fact, or urban legend? I have only found one reference to this on the Internet, and that on an open chat room…

Good morning,

Yes it is true regarding private school tuition. To find out details of the expense, please visit here: http://www.bvi.gov.vg/department/department-education

This site can lead you in the right direction. Our section on education in our guidebook is for people who have decided they are going to relocate to the BVI – http://bvinewbie.com/education-schools/

Thanks,
