We are Canadian and Polish citizens, I am half Geman( Hellstein).
We are living and working in  Canada for 32 years but  we would like to retire soon.
I am still working  for Government of Canada as a Director of Utilities and Safety, R/D, Technical Expertise ( Big Lakes County), my wife  Halina for Pharmaceutical Company as QC.
Our Kids are well  educated,  Mario – software developing engineer, microbiologist, biochemist and his wife  Kim is PHD Biologist,  Director of Medical Company.

I have few question about possibility of retire in  British Virgin Island  with our family because  is warm and income tax heaven.
Please advise  what the best place for Canadian to retire and what is the best way to start live on the islands ( sell house, take our investment with us RRSP, CPP, CSP, rent or buy property over there).
I have small consulting  company in  Canada for automation, modification of industrial and municipalities water and sewer systems.( back up power supply, pumping station, water treatment plants, sewer plants) in Canada, plus installing newest technology.
Newest  technology is my specialty and passion.
Please, let us know if we can retire in BVI and perhaps get little part time job, keep myself busy.
We will retire in 2019.
Thank you very much.
Have a good day.

Hello,
I didn’t know that BVI got hit quite often by hurricanes .
I am very sorry for devastation happens 2017
All islands were in ruins, very dangers places.
This is not very save place to stay for retirement with family.
We have colder climate in canada  but stable ground, no crazy storm, no volcano.
I’m  working  in Alberta close to Slave Lake where more and more people from all over the world coming and stay for long time or go to BC garden of Canada or Manitoba like me where is very affordable and flat, you can  see your neighbor mile away so you are never alone.
Choice is yours but beautiful place like BVI is good for short vacation, only.
Thank you.
