I have a non charter, bvi flagged yacht that I need to take to Puerto Rico. How do I check out of BVI? And what are requirements as crew is American
You will need to fill out a customs form and present all passports to customs and immigration at one of the ports of entry.
The above answer looks about right, but another answer submitted on the Facebook Community Board for the BVI was as follows:
Ramiro Tarrico Villafañe – My guess is: You just go through customs, as you normally would and you let them know that you’re on a boat. Same as you would go in to Saint Thomas…
SOME MORE ANSWERS FOR YOU FROM THE BVI COMMUNITY
Olympia Maduro Fahie:- You would have to check out with BVI CUSTOMS AND IMMIGRATION. Also you have to check out with the Ports Authorityif you are docked at the Cruise Ship Pier!
Beez Evans:- Check out at west end customs in Sopers Hole. Check in at US Customs at Cruz Bay and your done. Easy, especially if your crew are all US.
Just check that your import papers are current on the boat as normally they are only good for one year for temp importation to BVI. SOmetimes creates an issue when checking out.
