Hello,
My boyfriend and I are considering moving to BVI and I was wondering about gay life on the island.
My question is not about nightlife, bars and restaurant but about life itself. We want to know about mentality, acceptance, is it possible to live as a gay couple on the island?
Thank you for sharing your thouhts…

Short answer, yes, absolutely.
The social circles the BVI community are very open and accepting of people from all walks of life and you’ll fit in just fine. About half of the residents in the BVI are expatriates from, UK, Canada, USA, EU and other foreign countries.
Like anywhere, there are some exceptions in the community who are less tolerant to what they consider unconventional or unacceptable lifestyles. While the islanders are quite religious, and lean more toward conservative and traditional values when it comes to family dynamics, this does not mean that they are at all rude, discriminatory, or ignorant toward those who do not follow suit.
As long as you’re good people, it’s not something that you should concern yourself with.
We hope this helps,
