When packing to move to the BVI are there any items that are strongly recommended we should bring with us instead of trying to get it right away on the island…?

Hi,Looking for somewhere to stay when on island? Whether you are hunting for your island home or just visiting, we can help you in your search...
Hi Celia,
Just to clarify your question, what do you mean about items that are strongly recommended – are you referring to electronics or something of the like? The only issue you may come into problems with in buying stuff on island is the expense which is due to the fact that most things have to be imported.
I’m interested as this might be useful for a new section in our Newbie booklet.
Please read the following sections Working and Moving and see if they help, but if you’re still querying what to bring, come back to us.

Best Wishes,
Thanks Stephen! I am referring to maybe hygiene items (a certain toothpaste or deodorant) or maybe certain spices or snacks…things like that.
All are available on the island. You may find we are missing a specific brand or 2, but I would suggest the store Best of British – they provide many particular brands you won’t find in the main stores.
I once sought out Mince Pies (my first Christmas here) and no one knew what I was talking about at the main stores. Best of British sorted me right out. There is also USVI St Thomas $50 away by ferry which has the main stores that help if you are unable to find things on island.
