Role Summary

Based in either Bermuda, BVI or Cayman, the Insolvency & Restructuring Senior will support management and be responsible for performing the day-to-day investigations and analysis for Corporate Recovery, Forensic or Insolvency assignments for this boutique offshore player. Your portfolio will include Hedge Funds and international corporations.

Responsibilities 

• Managing the day-to-day responsibilities for investigations, insolvency and forensic assignments
• Liaising with third party professionals such as lawyers, fund managers, directors, regulatory bodies and registered agents
• Preparation of statutory documents, ensuring that all statutory filing and other requirements are completed properly
• Assisting in the collection and realisation of assets
• Adjudicating creditor and investor claims, and drafting reports
• Calculating and paying distributions to creditors and shareholders
• Maintaining financial records and accounts
• A high degree of autonomy in case management
• Working to tight deadlines, you must be ready to travel regionally at short notice
• The successful applicant must be client focused, and perform his/her duties with appropriate confidentiality and professionalism
• For the right candidate, there may be the opportunity for a Manager role

Qualification

• The ideal candidate will have an accounting (or legal background) with a professional qualification from an internationally recognised institution
• You must have 3-5 years’ relevant Insolvency/Recovery experience in a similar role
• Experience in Reinsurance and Hedge Funds – as well as in the Regulatory, Forensic or Corporate Recovery fields – is preferred but not required
• You must demonstrate an appropriate level of initiative and organisation, and be able to operate in a demanding environment
• Exceptional letter writing, computer literacy, analytical and interpersonal skills are also important
