Charter companies will require that you provide proof of your sailing certification as well as evidence of any course done and additional sailing experience. If you do not have the qualifications you can hire a local skipper to captain your boat.

Alternatively there are sailing schools such as Offshore Sailing which teach you how to sail on a learning to sail vacation.
