BVI Work Permit

Hi!
My boyfriend and I are hopeful to move to Tortola in October/November of this year. He has a job secured and I do not, I have 5 years of serving experience and childcare experience and I’m nervous as to how hard it seems to be to secure a work permit for a hospitality job. After looking at different websites while job seeking, I noticed there were quite a few nanny opportunities and those would be my main interest – but would I be able to get a permit for that? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Bri,

There are slight changes to the rules and strictness of Permit accessibility all the time related to necessity to give BVIslanders first choice at jobs.

Below is a link from our guide book about dependents – the usual protocol is for the dependent to wait a year before applying for work. After that, the process follows a similar scenario to the Work Permit application procedure.

If you send me an email to [email protected], I can send you the most current documents I have about this process as we are working on the 2015 version of our guidebook right now.
